Chinese Whisper took out line honors in the Sundance Marine Melbourne Osaka Cup 2018 and was our lowest rating entry. Rupert and Greg entered the Judel-Vrolijk 62 late last year after suddenly deciding not to run her in the Sydney to Hobart Race because of personal commitments. But simply entering the boat wasn’t enough.
The guys had to then set about preparing a boat usually raced by a full crew, to one that could be sailed double handed for a 5,500 Nm three week journey to Osaka. Judging from the result a few days ago, it seemed all their hard work has paid off. Martin Vaughan caught up with Rupert and Greg the day after the race to ask them about their experience.
