The crew of Utopia 2001 notified Race Management on Friday 13 April of a medical incident on board with Steve Evans. This has impacted his capacity to continue racing.
The crew made the decision to proceed to Honiara for further assessment and management and berthed on Monday 16 April where they have received Australian Consular assistance.
Steve has since elected to return to Australia to recover from his injuries.
John Fletcher Utopia’s Owner has elected to continue to Osaka with a new crew member.
Race Management recognise the disappointment of the Utopia crew and wish Steve a speedy recovery and fair following winds for John and his new crew for their onward passage to Osaka.

Utopia 2001はレースをリタイアするが、オーナーのJohn Fletcherは今日到着する新しいクルーメンバーと大阪へのレースを続行することにした。
レース委員会はUtopiaのクルーが撤退に追い込まれたことを残念に思い、Steveの早期の回復とJohnと新しいクルーが大阪に向けて良い追い風を受けることを願っている。
