Here at Melbourne House in Osaka on January 21st , the first meeting of the year for the OHYC board of directors was held. On this occasion we prepared the business report for our 2017 AGM, which will be held on February 4th and approved the financial report.
1月21日、ここメルボルンハウスでは、2018年最初のOHYCの理事会が行われました。今回は2月4日に行われる会員総会への2017年度の事業報告、並びに会計報告の理事承認を行いました。
There was a lively exchange of opinions among those in attendance in regard to the major upcoming event, the Osaka Cup that starts in March and runs until the middle of May. Goals in respect to this event were discussed and arrangements for the hosting of the competitors and the preparation for this were outlined.
そして3月にスタートして、5月の中旬頃まで行われるビッグイベント、メルボルン大阪の成功に向けて、そしてゴール側のホストとしてどのような受け入れ体制を整えるべきかを各理事より熱い意見交換が行われました。
There’s a great respect at Hokko Osaka Club for the competitors in the Osaka Cup who undertake the 5,500 NM race double handed. We will warmly welcome them and offer them our best hospitality as we share this great challenge with them. Everyone is truly excited. A service to pray for the safety of the competitors will be held on February 18th and we will report on this event in due course. Full details of OHYC’s preparations will be prepared by the new executive department following the reappointment of directors at the AGM in February.
全てはメルボルンから大阪までの5500マイルの果てしない距離を、たった二人で太平洋を縦断するオーシャンセイラーたちへ最大のリスペクトと、大いなる挑戦を成し遂げたヨット仲間を温かく迎え入れ感動を分かち合いたいという、おもてなしの心からクラブは盛り上がってきています。2月18日にはメルサカの安全祈願祭が行われます。またその模様も随時報告していきます。詳細は2月4日の会員総会で理事改選を経て、新執行部の元準備が進められていきます。
The latest news concerning OHYC competitor Bartolome was also discussed. They’ve been in Southport for a few days and were planning to depart on January 22. This final 1000 NM leg should have them in Melbourne in about 10n days. We wish them safe sailing.
そして現在ゴールドコーストで停泊中のBartolome号から、翌日1月22日日本時間の7時にスタートラインに立つべく、最終目的地メルボルンに向けて出発するという連絡が入りました。昨年12月2日に大阪を出港した長い航海は、残り1000マイル、約10日間で完了しようとしています。まずは無事メルボルンに到着されるよう、ご安航を祈っております。
