We were very sad to learn of the passing of Trevor Huggard who was a driving force behind establishing the Melbourne to Osaka Yacht Race. The ORCV prepared an article setting out Trevor’s extraordinary association to ocean racing in addition to his contributions to the wider community. You will find it Here.
For me, Trevor provided support and encouragement and will be remembered especially for his beautiful hand- written correspondence in ‘cursive’ script.
Trevor retained his interest in the M2O right up to his final days and his lifelong friend Robin Hewitt told me his eyes would light up whenever the M2O was mentioned. Regards – George Shaw
This is a story taken from the recent News Letter which is full of information for competitors and those following the race.
